Spaced Repetition Method

Why flashcards trigger rapid, long-term memory formation for Roman numerals.

1
Active Recall Pause and visualize the numeral in your mind before flipping. Retrieval builds stronger neural connections than passive reading.
2
Focus on Weaknesses Marking "Need Practice" cycles tricky cards to the back of the queue, ensuring you drill what you don't know rather than repeating what you do.
3
Bi-Directional Fluency Master both decoding Roman numerals to decimal numbers and translating decimal numbers into correct Roman notation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Roman numeral flashcards spaced repetition system work?

When you mark a card as "Mastered!", it is removed from the active queue and counts toward your progress bar. If you mark "Need Practice", the card is pushed to the back of the queue so it reappears until you have mastered it.

Can I practise reading Roman numerals and converting numbers both ways?

Yes. You can choose Mixed Mode (randomly alternates between Number to Roman and Roman to Number), or lock the direction to solely Number to Roman or Roman to Number using the direction buttons above the decks.

Are there keyboard shortcuts for faster studying?

Yes! Press Space to flip the card, press ← (or 1) to mark for review, and press → (or 2) to mark as mastered.

What happens when I finish the deck?

You'll see a completion screen displaying your mastery rate. If you missed any cards during the session, a "Drill Missed Cards Only" button lets you instantly drill only your weak spots without having to repeat the entire deck.
